Workshops, articles, book, & woven items

I have been weaving since 1967.  Flowing lines, intriguing textures, bold images and original designs characterize my award-winning work. I give workshops and lectures for guilds and conferences, and have taught in nine countries so far. My book, Exploring Multishaft Design, helps weavers to have fun creating new drafts for looms with 8 or more shafts.

silk shawl dyed warp Emperors ForestNetwork drafting is a method for expressing the design I want in the consistent interlacement of my choice, as big as I want. In these photos the underlying structure is a 4-shaft twill but I have many options.  Dyed silk warp shawl above.

Samples from The Big Twill workshop, 8-shaft loom, white cotton warp.  Network drafting is quite nice with 8 shafts and possible with 6 or even 4. See my article on WeaveZine, August 2009.
